My Bomb's Bigger than Your Bomb

By John

Hey, it's like a conventional version of the Cold War arms race....

WASHINGTON, September 13 (RIA Novosti) -

The U.S. has a 14-ton super bomb more destructive than the vacuum bomb just tested by Russia, a U.S. general said Wednesday.

The statement was made by retired Lt. General McInerney, chairman of the Iran Policy Committee, and former Assistant Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force.

McInerney said the U.S. has "a new massive ordnance penetrator that's 30,000 pounds, that really penetrates ... Ahmadinejad has nothing in Iran that we can't penetrate."

He also said the new Russian bomb was not a "penetrator."

Not a penetrator??

Welcome to the deja Vu arms race. These bombs are of limited tactical use. We used them in Vietnam to clear off mountain tops in order to make artillery fire bases. It stopped a fracas on an island in the south china sea when some bad boys grabbed on of our ships. They have to be delivered by a cargo plane. Be more afraid of the Bucky ball bomb that is nuclear and is meant to penetrate underground bunkers. The Neutron bomb (landlord bomb) is meant to kill people and leave the real estate alone. One of those on an Iranian oilfield will drive up Exxon, Amoco, Mobil, etc stock wondrously because the oil fields will be radioactive for quite a few years.

P.S. That B-52 that flew from North Dakota to the Iraq Jump off point in Louisiana recently, was likely loaded with six of the aforementioned neutron bombs in Cruise missles. The whole system was designed to deliver the things.

Bruce, with all due respect, this isn't designed like the MOAB, which was not like the Vietnam-era "daisy cutter."

The MOP is designed to be carried by B2 and B52 bombers, and has more ground-penetrating capability that the B61-11 variable-yield nuclear warheads.

Theoretically, nothing Iran has is deep enough to withstand a direct hit. In actuality, we may be closer than you think to testing that theory under combat conditions.

The nutjobs are out in force, campaigning for yet another war. Is there ANYONE left in the country who would trust these clowns with running a war?

After all the lies, does anyone believe their claimed motives for wanting yet another war?

Anyone?

Anyone at all???

It doesn't really matter. Be prepared for more "going to war was a mistake but we can't just turn back now".

I see no one else bothered to check the article this little snippet came from. The link is right at the top of the page!!!

---------------------

Commenting on the report, McInerney said: "Since Germany has backed out of helping economically, we do not have any other choice. ... They've forced us into the military option."

McInerney described some possible military campaign scenarios and said: "The one I favor the most, of course, is an air campaign," he continued.

He said that bombing would be launched by 65-70 stealth bombers and 400 bombers of other types.

"Forty-eight hours duration, hitting 2500 aimed points to take out their [Iranian] nuclear facilities, their air defense facilities, their air force, their navy, their Shahab-3 retaliatory missiles, and finally their command and control. And then let the Iranian people take their country back," the general said describing the campaign, adding it would be "easy."

Anon,

Coming from a retired General the plans must be on the table and have a green light.....bombing to start in 3....2....1....

I'm sure he's speaking for the Administration....

i wish i hadn't been raised to be such a conservative and didn't appreciate your outlook back in 1970
