More Gratuitous Air Refueling....
By John
A B-1B Lancer connects with a KC-135 Stratotanker refueling boom over the Indian Ocean on Friday, July 7. The B-1 was flying a close-air support mission in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The B-1 and KC-135 aircraft are stationed at a forward operating base in Southwest Asia.

There is something just horribly wrong with the idea of using a strategic bomber for CAS ... :)
If this is wrong I don't want to be right!
A KC-135 keeps flying around here (Grand Rapids, MI, area). I even took a pic of him a few weeks back and posted it because we rarely see military planes up here. No idea what they're up to.
He flew right the hell over our house this evening. Low, too. Just about rattled the windows...
That sleek beauty can make some big holes.
I hope CentCom is making some X's and O's right now.

I always thought the "Lancer" was the goofiest name for an aircraft that anyone could come up with. Whenever I see that name, does it evoke images of a cool supersonic jet-bomber? No. I always think condoms. For some reason.
wonderful
