Picture of the Day: The Sequel

Probably the first time we’ve done a follow-on picture of the day, but who cares. Check out some other angles on this week’s western Pacific bicep flex fest.

  1. Fix4RSO says:

Wow, the USAF takes the photo, and only one USAF bird in the whole thing?

Which carrier did the B-2 land on, anyway? I think the last USAF plane to land on a carrier was a C-130, right? ;)

(just jokin’ – cool shots! anything with planes and carriers are always cool!)

  2. Dylan says:

You just wanted to embarass the Navy for its sloppy station keeping. That center line makes baby Jesus cry.

  3. John says:

look at the fighters way in the background Fix. Four 15s and four 16s.

  4. Did the C-130 land on the carrier before or after the U-2 used the USS America as a temporary base?

  5. N guard says:

Why do I have the Imperial March theme from the star wars series running through my head when I see these photos?

    Very Kewl.

  6. Steve says:

I’d like to see the B-2 come into the break and rollout behind the boat just for giggles but then you’d have an Air Force crew in the mental ward with visions of wave-off lights forever dancing in their heads.

  7. Steve says:

Any idea who owns the -18E’s and F’s on the left? Squadrons deployed to the CV’s don’t usually have such colourful paint jobs.

  8. Fix4RSO says:

Dang! I was hopin’ no one noticed.

Ya sure those aren’t reconfig’d Tomcats with highly modified A-6s?

    (it’s a trick i tell ya, a TRICK!) ;)

  9. havermeyer says:

    I WANT VIDEO! (and sound)

  10. Joe says:

If you check aut the planes to the rear they are F-15′s and F-16′s. The F18 that is painted red with the dimonds belongs to VFA-102 “Diamondbacks”. Don’t know about the others.

  11. Elvis-bob says:

I thought this was myspace for a second, what with all the free porn and ringtones in the comments. Anyways, keep up the good work with photos. The Air Force site looks like it serves the same purpose of, and has the same number of planes as the Salvation Army.
