Hey Ass Clown

I am not sure who this Air Farce Officer J. Matisek is, but I what I do know is he is an ass clown (or as my colleague suggested Fuck Face).

Capt J. Matisek said in a reply to an earlier post:

“Moreover, having attended a Service Academy, I can tell you that very few people understand what it is, and many equate all of the Service Academies as being the same as VMI, Citadel, etc.”

Wow aren’t we special.  See you started at early age buttering up to the brass.  I doubt if most people in Virginia, South Carolina, or even Texas would associate being the Corps of Cadets of VMI, VPI&SU, Norwich, Citadel, or Texas A&M as being the same as going to a service academy.  Most people would realize that the biggest difference is rather than studying under the benevolence of the great American welfare machine those attending the aforementioned schools pay to do so.

Since average Americans do not know this difference between federally funded DOD schools and public/private funded schools of VMI and Citadel, the line is clearly blurred in the eyes of the public.

Actually most Americans know a welfare queen when they see them.

So in essence, what you see when Romney speaks at VMI is a room full of cadets in their military garb, and average Americans think that Romney is giving a rousing speech to the troops at this military college. Now of course we can speculate as to how Romney keeps giving speeches there – I assume he has a rich friend that works there or knows a person related to the governing of that institution – but it is clearly a play by Romney’s campaign team to put up this illusion of military support so that he can look strong on foreign policy,

Actually most American’s didn’t pay a bit of attention to Romney’s speech.

when in reality he is merely speaking to a bunch of college kids playing dress up in military outfits.

While you managed to sail through the Academy without having your education interrupted by events such as a reserve call up and a deployment to either Iraq or Afghanistan, a number of VMI Cadets have done so.  One was called up three different times and graduate four years after his Class.  So don’t say they are playing dress up—if fact most attending the aforementioned colleges and universities take their Cadetship very seriously and don’t view their four years as merely playing dress up.

I say college kids in outfits not to offend VMI and Citadel grads, but because we all know that attending those institutions does not guarantee an individual a commission in the US military.

Hey ass clown, let me clue you in you have already offended every Cadet attending the aforementioned institutions.  In fact if I were you, I would not identify yourself as the one who wrote these remarks otherwise you are likely to get your skinny little fly boy(girl) ass kicked from here to hell and back.  You are also an arrogant bastard for rubbing the Cadets nose in the fact that Academy graduates regardless of whether they are first or last in their class Academy graduates are guaranteed a Regular Commission; whereas well deserving ROTC graduates are regulated to getting a Reserve Commission and the possibility of never going on active duty.

So again, not to be cynical, but Romney is merely speaking to a bunch of college kids playing dress up, who were most likely “non-volunteered” to attend as a part of a rent-a-crowd; something all Academy graduates fondly remember from our Cadet days…”

You are right they probably were “volunteered,” the problem with the Academies is every time a politician needs trained seals they go to one of the academies.

  1. Debbie says:

Not to mention the fact that Academy graduates get a date of rank ahead of ROTC commissionees even if the commissionees from ROTC are actually on active duty well before the graduation date of the Academy ass.

  2. Brent says:

Actually, in Navy ROTC, everyone gets a regular commission, no more of that USNR crap. Can’t speak for Army or Air Force, though. That said, your reply to his comments shows that this is a real sensitive spot for you, some sort of inferiority complex? He’s right that the national exposure to places like VMI and the Citadel is limited when compared to the academies (DI sports probably has something to do with that), but it doesn’t help that the only national mainstream news I can think of about either place is the late introduction of women or minorities in the 90′s. I’ve served with plenty of officers from VMI, Norwich, the Citadel etc., plenty from the academies, plenty from ROTC, and plenty from enlisted commissioning programs, and none of them have a monopoly on either boneheadedness or brilliance.

  3. Rusty Bill says:

Don’t be too hard on him, Townie. He’s probably suffering from lack of oxygen or something.

Even this ex-Air Force NCO knows the difference between VMI/A&M/etc and the Academies.

  4. Davey says:

Once again, a ring-knocker confirms that they have a completely different perspective on the world. Maybe distorted, but certainly different.

  5. Doug says:

Sorry, Townie, you are dead wrong. I did not attend a service academy or a VMI-type institution, but I did serve in the Army,so I do know the difference. However, I can tell you from personal experience that the vast, vast, vast majority of civilians who have never served can’t tell the difference between a West Point cadet and anyone else in uniform. I have seen kids wearing their high school ROTC uniforms mistaken for Iraqi war vets while they marched in my town’s Memorial Day parade. Hell, a lot of people cannot differentiate between the service branches, much less tell the difference between different types of schools. It is simply beyone their realm of experience.

I think the ass-clown moniker was earned due to the pure douchbagery the young captain displayed in his comments, not whether his assumptions of civilian observation skills were accurate. The kid might be squared away, he may even be a rambo prototype able to kick our collective asses with a ball point pen, but his unwarranted classification of some of the best and brightest future leaders as “kids playing dress-up” is nothing more than arrogance. Was that arrogance fostered at the Academy? Who knows. Either way, ass clown is the appropriate label for the cock-sure ignorance he displayed when he took a dump on his keyboard and hit enter. A little humility goes a long way, captain…give us a call when you learn that little life lesson finally reaches home. Btw- most of those kids playing dressup learned that within hours of matriculation to Mother I.

I thought about commenting on the propriety of Gov. Romney’s visit to the I, but decided to not enter the fray. However, the Captain’s comment has prompted me to enter such comment on this thread. First, VMI would be proud and pleased to host either the President or his opponent. You can bet that the corps would be respectful and enthusiastic if the CIC decided to visit, perhaps especially during electioneering.
The Captain’s snide remarks give me pause to wonder if he is actually a military officer and S/A graduate. You can’t tell on blogs. If he is, then he is exhibiting some of the shavetail elite snobbery I have observed out of (especially recent) S/A graduates, who many times comport themselves as Ivy Leaguers. To the Captain – I invite you to visit the post and come to the Hall of Valor. Your statements denigrate their service, and the thousands of others not identified in the Hall.
Let’s end this thread. Such comments as the Captain’s are not worthy of more of our time.

  9. VMI Warrior says:

A telling quote from Jahara Matisek’s (USAF Academy) professional profile page:
“Get my 2nd Master’s so I can get the Air Force to pay for me to get my PhD so I can go teach PolySci back at the Air Force Academy”

That’s pretty much the mentality I was referring to in the previous post on the Romney visit discussion. Not about service for God, Home & Country, it’s getting the AF to pay an additional $100k for his education.

(If this in fact the same one)

  10. Maj W says:

What’s also not been noticed is that assclown is a serving officer and making public comment under his rank and name on political issues – very poor. I would have not been caught dead making political statements, or even discussing them in public as a serving officer – poor form – and another indication of the dangerous chnages in our officer corps. Perhaps somebody should make assclown’s comments known to his chain of command for use as what I might characterize as a, let’s say, “learning moment”… he’s obviously not getting any professional advice from anywhere else.

  11. Bill Cooper says:

I doubt that Captain Matisek has read The Gates of Fire or has read Xenoes’ speech to Xerxes about the nature of kingship. Maybe in the Air Force officers don’t lead by serving. Maybe he thinks he outranks CSM’s because they call him “sir”. After all, he did go to THE ACADEMY. The pissant needs to grow up a bit before he’s going to be taken seriously.

  12. Raven says:

First rule of internet–when making an ass of yourself, don’t use your real name. First rule of not being a douche bag, don’t use your rank on anything when you’re not in your official capacity.

According to his open profile on LinkedIn, not only is the good Cap’n an Academy Grad, but he’s a PILOT too. Zipper Suited Sun god. All Bow down.

He’s 05 yr group, so his Maj board is currently postponed. At least the douche won’t pin field grade anytime soon, lest he have the opportunity to inflict himself on other officers in addition to abusing the enlisted men.

I had the pleasure of having a LT a Tx A&M corps of cadets grad work for me for a while. He was head and shoulders above your average new LT and a hundred times more competent and humble than most USAFA grads. The troops loved him and the rest of us knew the shift was in good hands with him and the MSgt he was paired up with were on duty. I’d take similarly trained and educated men from a Corps school over 5x USAFA grads.

  13. Sam L. says:

As a retired USAFer, I concur with all above. Another case of a zoomie bringing discredit upon himself and his academy.

  14. DaveO says:

I thought, seriously, that Romney was giving the speech at VMI because of the Leadership Institute or collegium or whatever they’re calling it these days.
