“Fury was taking multiple medications for anxiety and depression, and told investigators he set the fires so he could get out of work, according a 7-page affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Portland on Monday.”
What the hell was a guy with multiple meds doing on a nuclear sub?
Check his protected status, including union membership.
The only texting he's going to be doing where he's going is some tap, tap, tapping and some dash, dash, dashing on the concrete wall next to his cot…. moron.
So what is a just punishment for this guy? He can never repay $400 million. Does he deserve life, 20 years, 1 year, probation? What would be just here?
I'd almost say don't send him to jail. Make him work on half pay for the rest of his life and take that other half to pay off as much of that $400 million as possible. Sure he won't ever be able to cover it all, but better that than making us pay even more to keep him in prison.
Were it not for this being about as moronic as any act I have read about lately, it would inspire a raft of jokes about dedicated "public servants". However, this individual is not the only moron involved- I assume that the people who granted him a clearance to work on Nuke boats are the same imbeciles who cleared Maj Nadal down at Fort Hood.
Union labor at its finest. If it wasn't so damn expensive, it'd be hilarious.
