I risk being invidious in this post; who can illuminate the sacrifice of one but not dim the countless others? However, I will try. As I was driving north today on I-81, past Lexington and past New Market, my thoughts turned to this Marine (and fellow alumnus):
He is one of thousands who have fallen, but one I choose to remember foremost today.

To paraphrase the great Colonel Dabney, “Where do we find these magnificent men?” Rest in Peace, brother.
This was a man that can rightly be called a Hero without cheapening the currency.
RIP :(
