9/12 And Beyond

A few 9/11-related items to wrap up.

I forgot, most disgracefully, to link to Doc H’s post on Ahmad Shah Massoud, the Lion of the Panjshir. His assassination immediately preceded 9/11; if he were alive today I’m sure we would not have half the problems we do.

Second, at our own 9/11 ceremony here at Camp Eggers, I stood next to a fellow VMI grad, from the class of ’91, LCdr Dave Williams’s class. Solemn. We also heard a most rousing and inspiring address from the Canadian Chief of the Defence Staff, General Walter Natynczyk, and later I was privilieged to meet him. That’s one squared-away soldier; you may or may not recall that he was deputy CG of the Multi-National Corps in Iraq, in 2004. Good guy to have on your side in a fight!

Finally– we move to the vile news of the day, which I have buried below the fold.

“New York’s Sept 11 Museum to Display Hijacker Perspective”

Un-fucking-believable.
