    I’ve loved airplanes and air power since I was old enough to watch war movies, and that’s a few decades. They are battlefield-essential because they pave the way for and support grunts. Air power may turn the tide of battle, but men with rifles win wars. “The job of a rifle is to extend the will of a good man over a long distance.” I wish I’d been the first to say that.
