Unbelievable. Or all too believable– We (well, some of us) voted for change, and we’re getting it good and hard.

Um… since when does “right-wing extremist” = “conservative?” (The word “conservative” doesn’t appear in the report.)
Check how they define “right-wing extremist.”
Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.
So, everything from PETA to the tenth amendment is a possible right-wing extremist….
I don’t like being lumped in with Neo-Nazis and Racists very much just because of my how I feel on certain issues of politics.
“I don’t like being lumped in with Neo-Nazis and Racists very much just because of my how I feel on certain issues of politics.”
Oh, this is their goal. This abstract statement made by these people just gives them not only wiggle room, but a giant room to interpret that statement to their liking to enact political correctness, political pressure, and then eventually law to stifle free political speech. What the hell does that statement mean? This is absolutely disgusting and crazy. So let me get this straight, if you are either Catholic (who reject abortion) or believe in questioning the federal gov’t when it comes to the 10th amendment, the you are a right wing radical in the same batch as racists and national socialists? This is from the justice department? GET THE F’ OUT OF HERE!! Very, very, sad times my friends.
Don’t forget us Jewish intellectuals (somewhat, at least) who actually believe in the Constitution, limited government, limited spending, capitalism, and fair treatment for all.
I’m damn proud to say the DHS has labeled me an Anti-Government wacko.
If standing up for Liberty, Individualism and Independence means I’m a “Right wing Extremist” I will wear that badge proudly!
Let’s remember how the socialist and other tyrants have bastardized the English language by turning words around.
How can a person who believes in freedom and liberty and upholds the Constitution be called a “Extremist”??
The extremist are those who are tearing apart the Constitution and those who despise Liberty.
This right here is a pretty good start, you can easily insert “conservative” and it would be true.
How does being “antagonistic” make you (or me) a “right wing extremist?”
Read 1984 – This is doubleplus ungood!
Funny at the TEA Parties I saw plenty of people equating President Obama to Hitler, various dictators, and of course Chairman Mao.
To deny that there is a racist/hate group element rallying against a democratically elected black President(coupled with high unemployment)is completely and categorically ignorant.
The department started under Bush is doing its job. If an incident had occured and it was not noted they would have been negligent in its duty
GP-
So, it was racist and hateful when it was done against Bush, as well?
Right?
Let’s totally ignore the possibility of AstroTurfing, since we know the left would never try to sabotage the right. *cough* Huffington post *cough*
This report is so poorly done, it should get someone fired; no details, other than going from a sample of one out of the gigantic pool that is “former military” and expanding it to a standing threat. Additionally, check out some of the sources they used. Then check out the same sort of report that they issued for the left– identifying specific groups, some of which are known for death threats and actual terroristic actions…where they concluded that the biggest threat was computer based.
How dare the Bush administration direct its DHS to prepare a report on left and right-wing extremism… We better revolt. Oh, wait, we did – in early Nov 08.
You guys are funny. I must have missed the post where you railed against the DHS report on left-wing extremism. This was Bush’s Frankenstein and now you complain that the monster is still loose?
*cough* Hey, J….
Half a day before your post?
Did you bother to read the left-wing version?
Well, assuming you’re even here, and not another of the random sort who show up, drop an ignorant comment and never are seen again… hope you’re not, it’d be nice to have more folks around.
I went to bed a Patriot, and woke up an Extremist Threat. Wow!
Careful, Foxfire, “J” is a self-style Progressive. Click J’s blog.
Thing is, J, the report in question is obviously based on false and biased assumptions based on political motivations.
Just because this report reads basically the same as the previous report, but with the opponents reversed, doesn’t make it true. It just makes it stupid.
Bush’s report articulates how foreign insurgents infiltate into U.S. organizations that oppose our Federal Republic and Constitution. Which is mostly true.
Obama’s report attempts to articluates how citizens/soldiers who have returned form combat are joining militias as a means to defend our Federal Republic and Constitution. Which is mostly false.
Bush’s report is fact. Obama’s report is an embarrassment.
Anon– a lot of trolls do stuff like that to get folks to visit their blogs.
I usually wait until they post a second time, with content, before I’ll give their blog a hit.
