Where Are They When We Need Them?

By Lt Col P

By way of MMM, a brilliant and beautifully executed send-up of the Congress, our Fools-not-limited-to-April.

Where are the Founding Fathers when we need them? I look around and don't see too many would-be emulators...

BR LtCol P,

funny but sad, or sad but funny depending on your take of the current situations.

Michelle Malkin should be shot.

Jefferson and most of the Founding Fathers would have scorned most of what passes for right wing truth these days. They would have been especially amused at how folks cry no tears over the trillion dollars spent on a war on behalf of Arabs, while worrying about actually doing something about the plight of real Americans.

This is the mother lode, isn’t it? It is the whine equivalent of the superfecta. The liberal NY Times, ACORN, the Democrats, and Obama all conspired to steal the election from John McCain. John McCain wasn’t doomed by the fallout of a decade of Republican rule. He wasn’t doomed by his poor performance in the debates, his choice of an idiot for a running mate, or his ridiculous response to the financial meltdown. No. Instead, we learn that the Republicans lost because a “game-changer” was suppressed by a liberal cabal of evildoers designed to keep the man down.

Stop worrying about the debt my children will have to pay and start worrying about the money you need to be paying me.

Wow, someone who freely expresses their opinion needs to be shot, Arabs don't deserve liberty and freedom when their chips are down, and we need to pay you. Smells like a tyrant socialist to me. Very strange and evil times we are living in. Hopefully Americans will wake up to this garbage.

SS:

Struck a nerve, did it? I wasn't aware I owed you a debt. You should also be very careful about recommending that people be shot. You seem to lead a sad and dark little life.

Hearing the founding fathers quoted as models of right wing thought does strike a nerve. I think the history shows that they had a very different view point than most "conservatives" today. I also think that if they had to put things together in the current time-much of the conventional wisdom about what they would and would not support would go out the window.

So yea, it strikes a nerve that we can waste billions on a war that accomplishes nothing-but trying to save American jobs and incomes is considered socialism.

As for mt life-I like it just fine thank you very much.

Oh, the war accomplished nothing? What an insult to the servicemen over there who sacrificed. Oh, btw...I want you say it... VICTORY
VICTORY
VICTORY

Just say it...because that is what is happening over there now.

Just rack your chin in.

Seg   ·  April 5, 2009 12:18 PM

Ummm. No.

Victory is not the word one should use when discussing Iraq. If it was victory-we would be able to leave. The consistent word that is being put forward is that we cannot leave-because this is happening.

Just because we try to rectify a mistake after it has been made-does not mean we were somehow right to have made that mistake in the first place. Tom Ricks is right when he states emphatically that Iraq will rank as the greatest foreign policy mistake the US has made in the last 50 years.

Skippy-san   ·  April 5, 2009 07:22 PM

Ummm...yes.

I guess we didn't win in Germany or Japan either by your argument.
