Good article in LWJ on the re-appearance of organized AQ/Taliban formations.
Not to make light of a serious situation, but when I saw this photo and the shoes they're wearing, one thought immediately popped into my head...
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO THEY HAVE ON LIGHT DUTY??
Hey, if you can't make fun of Al Qaeda, who can you make fun of? Quick update-- B5 has more serious commentary.
(BTW, for the unititiated, "the Gim" is VMI-speak for light duty.)

That sure is a lot of dudes on soft shoe, I guess no racing the stoops for them.
No army ever won a war running around the field in their gym shoes. I guess boots are too tough on their feet eh?
