I tried long and hard to scribble out a reaction to the attacks in India.
Could only come up with one thing.
I fucking hate terrorists.

Uh, yeah.
I do too, and I’m not so sure it’s a bad thing. IMO anger and hate is better than fear. It motivates you to do something about the menace.
Sometimes the simplest explanations…
Agree w/Nicholas.
kill ‘em all and let Satan sort ‘em out.
at this point I could give a fuck about political correctness. these assholes need to die.
Cromwell was right Blue Suit Ranger.
My hatred for them started at the 1972 Munich Olympics and got reinforced in September of 1974 when yasser arafat’s boys blew up a TWA 707 over the Med. I was on my first deployment onboard The Good Ship Independence. Our Task Force got the recovery.
Kill ‘em all.
Sure. But along with the hatred I also feel some major respect for the National Security Guards and others who took the terrorists out.
yup…..pretty well sums it up…..
props to the Indians for mopping it up quick-like….I hope to civilian casualties were minimal
I spoke too soon about the Indians handling of the situation……..
Indian police wouldn’t fire back
Looks like my hopes for a minimal casualty count won’t be realized either…..
One has to remember where this took place. India, for all its shiny big buildings, is a third-world dump. I’ve been there on business several times and the shear misery most of the people live in is staggering.
This means the Indian governmental infrastructure, including police, are basically the same thing you get in any other third world dump.
Americans are used to well-trained police who are prepared to use their weapons. I would not be surprised if the cops in that station had ever fired their pistols. Secondly, look at the first responders that were shown on TV. I saw several with old bolt-action rifles, not sniper rifles, but left over WWII stuff from the Brit Army. Many of the others I saw were charging around with a rifle and no extra magazines. Better then nothing, but still not a sign that the police there were capable of handling much.
It also took them three days to root everyone out of the Taj Hotel. I understand there were civilians in the building, but considering the terrorists were systematically killing them it did not make any sense to take you time attacking and killing the bad guys. I think the cops simply could not get the job done, hence the reason for the Indian military presence.
With all that said I saw enough police charging in with pistols knowing what was on the other side, so there are some brave souls on the Mumbai PD.
I hate them also
