6.5 Richter scale quake shakes Greece

A powerful earthquake measuring at least 6.5 on the Richter scale shook southern Greece on Thursday, but no casualties or severe damage was immediately reported, the government quake watchdog said.

Too bad about the quake, but it gives me a great excuse to post some photos from my trip to Greece :

One thing I noticed about that area of the world- they certainly love cucumbers. That goes for Bulgarians and, apparently, Turks as well. ’tis a shame that our presence in Greece is so reduced these days, I’d pay to be assigned there.

When you go back, you should check out Chania, it is a small town on the west end of Crete. http://www.chaniacrete.gr/

My wife and I spent a couple of days there a couple summers ago, we had some amazing seafood and the town has a pretty cool naval history musuem. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Anyone who likes history has to go to Greece, it is an amazing place/country.
