Two More '89 CO's

I was passed along information on our BR, CDR John Banigan, CO of the USS JOHN S MCCAIN (DDG56) some time ago, but never got around to posting on it in myself and LT COLP’s effort to get the word out.

I also just came across my friend CDR Mark Joynt, who is CO of HM14. He and I worked together on several design projects during our First Class year and had more than a couple of cold ones.

Congratulations to both!

And for John, please note that of these two, one majored in Physics and the other in Mechanical Engineering.

  1. LtCol P says:

So from 89 that’s four sailors and three Marines in command right now, with one more Marine slated for command. Not bad for a class that didn’t graduate more than about, what, 230?

  2. bullnav says:

I think it’s five sailors (1 Submariner, 2 SWOs, and 2 Aviators)…not to mention we don’t know the status of any of our Army or AF BR’s.

I will need to do some research, methinks, and yes it was something like 220-230.

  3. John says:

just you wait for 03 and our history majors to reach the command age Gents.. just you wait.

    Bull Sir,

Osama’s son is the horse with the large belly

hint, this will be hard to do since I have not a clue as to play this game with-out dagger strife to my own home-front anchors
