The Things You See on the Road...

By Bull Nav

Driving along I94/I80 west bound tonight on my way to NAVSTA Great Lakes, I saw a billboard by these guys that said

BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!

It's just a couple of miles before you get to the new Cabela's in Hammond, IN (and I did not make it in time for the official opening of the store today in case anyone was wondering).

I tell you, I saw that sign and I thought:

HELL YEAH, BRING 'EM HOME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LET'S GO GET OUR BOYS OUT OF THERE. I MEAN WE'RE ALL PEACEFUL NOW SO GET THEM THE HELL OUT OF THERE. WE ARE SPREADING NOTHING BUT HATRED BY BEING THERE!!!!!

Come on, what are we waiting for?!?!?!?!?!?

Just have our guys immediately drop what they are doing and head on out!!!! Hell, we have lots of experience doing that!!!

And it made everyone like us so much better...

Somalia, Lebanon, South Viet Nam...

While we are at it, let's get out of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, the Horn of Africa, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the UK, Colombia, Honduras, Japan, the Phillipines...let's get out of EVERYWHERE BECAUSE EVERYBODY HATES US AND THAT'S THE ONLY WAY WE CAN BE PEACEFUL!!!!!

YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! GET THEM HOOOOOME NOW! NOW! NOW!!!!!

I felt SOOO inspired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Idiots.

it seems like Michigan activists should have better things to do....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Michigan the only state in the union that's in the red instead of the black? Econonmy is humming in the rest of the 49 states... or so I hear.

Don't get me wrong, I love Michigan. We have a cabin up in TC and I spent just about every summer of my childhood in Grand Haven.

But still, y'know?

Uh, the billboard was in Indiana...

bullnav,

Why worry about a Cabelas in Indiana when there is one 20 minutes from where you live??? (okay, it IS a grand opening!!) I'll be thinking about that while I'm sitting in my tree today!!

John, my man, what does the Michigan economy and Indiana code pink types have to do with each other?? Don't be hatin', come back to Traverse City and spend some money, help our economy!!! ;-)

I see yard signs all over with that phrase. I always think to myself, how about:

"Bring Our Troops Home Victorious!"

You hit the nail on the head. I've been saying that also to all my "pull out now" friends. If they are going to be consistent they should be demanding we pull our troops home from everywhere and not just one particular place.

bumper stickers are great, too. I saw a guy with the 'I love my country but I hate this war' bumper sticker. I thought, I hope thats not his car because I find it pretty pathetic that all 100 lbs. of me is more willing to kick ass than is guy.
