God I love this airframe.
An A-10 Thunderbolt II ground attack aircraft pulls up sharply out of a low-level strafing run during a combat search and rescue demonstration at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., Oct. 4. The digitally upgraded A-10 is equipped with satellite-guided precision weaponry and advanced communications data links for transferring information with ground-based warfighters. Excellent picture. Thanks
Beautiful! I’m so glad the USAF wasn’t able to kill that bird – even better that they’re upgrading them with 21st Century tech.
I love simple, elegant solutions and the Hog is one great example of that.
One of my favorite questions to ask cadets (during a stint with ROTC) was to identify the aircraft with the most hotpoints. For sheer killability, you just can’t beat the venerable A-10 (with 11 hotpoints and that BA gatling in the nose). -cp
Of course I love the A10, I was a grunt.
About damned time they upgraded the electronics, though.
