Update On Houssein Zorkot

By Lt Col P

BR BullNav brought us the first look at Houssein Zorkot, the ever peaceful med student in Michigan, who was peacefully arrested while peacefully sitting in his car outside a city park while peacefully clutching an AK-47. Nothing to see here! Move along!

Michelle Malkin gives us an update. (BTW, Michelle, give BullNav some credit too! He doesn't crave MM attention as much *others* in this blog, who shall remain nameless, but he did get on this one quickly... )

There's a lot to be concerned with here. I echo what BullNav said about being ready. At. All. Times. For those of you who carry, I'll pass on something that was taught to me in the pistol course I took back in May-- when you see someone with an AK start shooting, immediately think "body armor" and adjust your point of aim and your tactics accordingly.

(And for commenter "ME" in BullNav's post-- how's life back on 10 Sept 2001? Nice and easy? Carefree? If your head's not in the sand, it's definitely shoved somewhere else.)

I suppose it's not polite to say it, but head on a swivel means for me that I'm very aware of Arab looking men. Period.

Nothing hateful about it, just good common sense.

When a trashy looking white guy with that stupid looking hip-hop garb on is nearby in a parking lot or something, I am very aware of him as well. (I know, some PC types are thinking I'm saying white guy but meaning. . . . but we just don't have very many black folks in AZ, proportionately speaking.)

And so on.

yup, that's the way I see it too, Ray.

Although I'd point out that profiling will only do us limited good in the future, Islamists are trying to win over caucasian converts in Europe.

And I think it might work. Islamists appeal to young men and women in the same way that Marxism appealed to yesterday's young men and women, they illustrate suffering, assign blame, and then say "look, I have a better system. Just blow up this train and you'll move us closer towards (Islamic) egalitarianism."

Other things concern the Motor City this weekend, unfortunately.

Rightly so, I would say.

The UAW's contract with GM...

Sept 10 vs Sept 15-threat was still the same-all that changed was the reaction to it.

Not sure I understand what all that has to do with gun control and law enforcement which is what this seems to fall into. People don't get to sit in their cars with automatic weapons-regardless of their nationality. (Or they shouldn't).

So it was that on 9/11/07 walking into work that morning, and (Nod to Bull),dressed in the Uniform of the Day with extra baggy in the boot leggings so not to call attention to the sock stuffings above the boots, saw a sight that gave me an immediate WTF moment with the spotting of a bicycle parked in the rack by the Ambulance Bay which would never have caught my attention on any other day would it not have been for the rather stuffed looking back-pack sitting on the ground next to it pad-locked to the front wheel.
