Not on the Night Stand
By John
But, it should be.
Was watching Monday Night Football, Bengals-Ravens, and there was a short spot on Carson Palmer's (Bengals Q) offseason reading....

Palmer loved it, apparently. High marks on Amazon, too. I love how football and the military share the same warrior ethos. It's just so damn American.

Yeah, but the recent Army habit of attaching the word "warrior" to everything is getting a little stupid.
Robert Kaplan in his new book "Hog Pilots and Blue Water Grunts" tells of some
time he spent on the Benfold. He was pretty impressed. Kaplan also wrote "Imperial Grunts".
Both books highly recommended and could provide a good education to your civilian friends.

I always get a little antsy when I see "management" associated with anything military. It seems like, esp. in the years running up to 9-11, the military was so "hip" on this whole "corporate thing".
As usual, it seemed as if only the Marines were impervious to it.
I'm glad the Army has at least put it on hold for now.
It's leadership... and nothing but leadership. If you're just a good leader, then you don't have to manage.
People will do anything for you if you're just a good leader.
