A Sad Day in Dayton
By Bull Nav
It was a gray, cloudy day. Off and on, the skies were threatening. Still, along thousands of others, my son and I headed down to Dayton to watch the air show.
Thunderbirds, lots of static displays, lots of performances.
I took lots of pictures and wanted to write witty remarks about it, but I can't do that.
A man died entertaining us.
Mr. Jim LeRoy, former Marine, crashed his biplane into the runway while performing for the second time today. It is something that will forever be imprinted in my memory.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family tonight.

Joel-
The P-51 crash happened at the Airventure in Oshkosh WI on Friday.
I was in Oshkosh and had known about the crash, but didn't find out about one of the pilots dying until this morning.
Very sad, I had assumed no one died when they continued with the show an hour after the crash.

Yeah, I just read it on the news. I actually thought about you... remembered you had said you were going to be there.
It is sad. There was also an airshow crash somewhere else this morning, but the location of it escapes me. Two P-51's collided. One pilot dead.
