070509-N-8591H-229 MOUNT FUJI, Japan (May 9, 2007) - E-2C Hawkeyes assigned to the "Liberty Bells," of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 115 perform a formation flight in front of Mount Fuji. VAW-115 is one of the nine squadrons assigned Carrier Air Wing (CVW) Five, which is assigned to USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). Kitty Hawk operates out of Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan. Yeah, so? They aren't so bad once you get to know 'em :)

You have to realize what an effort it is to get all 5 aircraft up at one time. In this case because their 5th aircraft is usually in depot-its nothing short of a miracle.

Its also a recent photo, they have only had the 8 blade props for about 4 months.

Nice shot! And let me underscore Skippy-sans comment re. getting the 5th one airborne -no mean feat that (having 5 at one time in one of my squadrons - see the Resurrection of BuNo 160992 series at the mothership). Thanks!
