i was once captured by 2 thugs . one had a chrome plated 9 mm and the other acted as if he had a weapon placed behind his back. they physically assaulted me. they wanted me to drive them away . you know every second your are in enemy hands ; your chances of escape is less . i took their punishment . i played them off and set them on a search for my keys ( decoy ) . i chatted continiously to the last one that held me prisoner . while doing so ; i escaped zig zagging and taking cover whenever possible . i knew they had planned on taking me to the ATM machine . the next move would be to take me to a remote dumpster where they would cap me . one military dependent 17 yr old honor student had begged for his life and the punk thugs killed him anyway . his body was tossed in a dumpster and never recovered . a confession was extracted . another time - found drugs at the military work site . wash d.c. i was paid a visit on base by the friends ( non government people ) of the suspect government employee. they were laughing because they knew how easy it was to execute a total reprisal on me. it was one big laughing hyiena joke to them . i escaped them . when someone messes with you and you are disabled ; they can try to shift the blame or pin anything on you . they think you are scarred and have no credible rights . every night about 11 - 12 i would race my car out of the base to evade the stalker vendetta of my ex co workers gang . sometimes ; i didn't leave the Navy Yard and i slept on the floor until morning . i took a keen interest in survival gear because a weapon ( handgun ) is not permitted in D.C. it didn't stop the hazing or the filth of lies against me ; but at least survival gear made me feel i was not totally powerless to defend myself . two creeps went after my Colonel friend in D.C. he was a disabled former prisoner of war . i sorted the attackers out . there was no way i would leave the Colonel as bait to save myself . i was ready to fight to the death . the tallest attacker had a knife hidden in his waist wrap around cloth . two D.C. cops with weapons were on the street corner ; but they seemed to be ignoring the action . i didn't call for help because i didn't know if they were ligitimate honest cops . they could cuff you and execute you . this all happened over a decade ago . the Colonel and i lived and there was no police blotter available for the attackers to skip trace us on . in D.C. you could see open air drug marketing . the cops were placeing plastic bands on the sellers and others were not arrested . didn't look kosher . on 15 th street ; a few blocks from the capitol , hookers were openly doing commerce . many said they were scared of their pimps. some pimps had their babies . you didn't need a weapon to protect yourself from thugs or espionage kidnappers unless you had bad luck . its not very comforting to not be carrying a weapon ; when the diplomatic immunity career criminals set their pit bulls after you to do their evil bidding . if you have to be around crims ; at least be packing heat and let people always know where you are . stick with a buddy system . a second weapon to beat the time to reload is handy . a laser fashioned to your side arm is execellent for pin point striking the targets . if you recieve a can of beer ; make sure it is sealed and unopened free from tampering. people in the world are not adverse to drugging their mark . any snikering low life can hunt people . you want to be in a position to strike back and fast ! you want to be able to escape and evade . keep reciepts of all places you purchase items or services . this is a method of tracking your last where abouts - especially if Detective Columbo Peter Falk has to find you trusted up in some creatures interrogation chamber ... ready to be ship dropped to some underground prison in a no place region of the world where you will never be seen again ... and the memory of you will fade away . embedded radio frequency id , GPS , cell phone , a stun gun and mace are handy equipment in the event you have to deal with violent assailants . do not ever be alone like the retired CIA Director off Chesapeake MD or Admiral Mike Jerry Boorda in the Washiongton D.C. Navy Yard ; while the Marine guard are posted outside . any time the crims think you are close to something ; they will do whatever they need to do to stiffle your life or even end it . do not take up dangerous hobbies like JFK Jnr ; who crashed his Piper Cub . do not leave yourself open to advisary people who will plot to destroy whoever is in their path . what seems like an accident might have been a hit . every senator and representative should have protection . politicians should carry their own weapon which might save their life . maybe ; if they are in session ; they might check in their weapons with the security guard or sergeant at arms . back in the 50's congress was assailed by machine gun welding revolutionaries . the filth of the world will ignore the rules and carry weapons into D.C. the nice people will have no personal weapon to fight back with except their mind . people do not feel suicidal when they can fight back ; even if the system fails you . mall security guards with limited training and a sketchy background are allowed to carry a weapon . it is reassuring that Gary Coleman would be able to resuce you at a California mall. ah , the life of Walter Middy !

I read elsewhere that this has been appealed to the full 14 judge panel, and that until they rule the gun ban stays in place. So, it is a step toward freedom, but not the end nor the actuality yet.

Oh, and I thought other 'weapons' like mace were not allowed in DC either. It could be anoying to go downtown and get busted just because you did not strip down to airport security level ahead of time.
