Back From The 'Raq

By Lt Col P

I, for one, was quite pleased to see Michelle Malkin back in CONUS after what must have been an eye-opening trip to Iraq. The bare walls and rude furniture shown in the lead photo in her post gave me an instant memory jolt back to my room in beautiful Camp Fallujah, circa March 2004-- building 6, room 6 by the way-- except that mine didn't have a smiling Michelle Malkin sitting on the rack... But I digress; allow me to get back on track before I get myself in trouble...

Her fellow embed blogger Bryan Preston has posted a damn good piece on the status quo in Iraq. Hie thee hence, to borrow a phrase from KduT; read it, save it, print it. There's so much to it I can't do it justice here, but I think it hits a whole house full of nails on the head. I look forward to reading more, from both of them.

Welcome back, both of you. Good work.

One more item of interest before I go...

Since this is about a somewhat well-known Marine employing good initiative, good judgement, good discipline and good gunhandling skills, I suppose it qualifies for a milblog. Forget the guy's politics, I'll buy him a beer.

And look here for some memorable limp-wristed leftist hoplophobia.
