"If you're going to San Francisco....."

NORTHCOM responds. NORAD fighters and tankers like these were in the air within minutes following the report that a small aircraft crashed into a New York apartment building.

Great pic! The caption should be NORAD ovr the Golden Gate bridge. The Bay Bridge is way off to the left and only the approach to the city can be seen in the pic. The bridge in the center of the pic is the lovely Golden Gate. Cheers!

Lovely photo. But such hardware is of questionable use in a terrorist attack. It has an all-dressed-up-but-nowhere-to-go feel to it. Even if told to do so, how many pilots really could shoot down an airliner? And wouldn't the debris from it cause even more damage?

Depends on what you were over when you hit the airliner.

After all, Lockerbie suffered less damage than NYC, right?

true that, Jeff.

Thanks Capo, title adjusted. Brain fart :)
