Where is everyone?

Yes, there hasn’t been much activity here at OPFOR. I’m busy trying to get my new laptop to work (apologies to all of the Mac users out there… I guess if I’d gone communist, ITunes would have recognized my CD burner software…) On top of the plethora of tech issues I’ve been having, I’ve also just purchased Civilization 4, which has been eating up a good chunk of my already sparse blogging time.

John’s in the desert somewhere, and apparently doesn’t have enough time to post on anything.

We’ll get squared away, readers. We promise.

Tried to warn you! Got a money back guarantee on that Toshiba? FYI – Civ IV is available on Mac OS X but since you already bought it, you could still dual boot WinXP for gaming on an Intel Mac.

BTW, the communists are the GNU/Linux Zealots who refuse to pay for their OS at any cost. The Mac users are mostly Unix converts, check out the next USENIX conference, there will be like 80% Mac laptop users in attendance. They still manage all sorts of Unix servers but they use Mac’s for their laptops. The rest of the Mac Zealots are early old school Mac users (pre-OS X) who are mostly queer artists. (*joking*) The remainder are ordinary people who just want a computer that works. Lots of users will never peek under the hood into the Unix innards of Mac OS X.

The number one selling feature in the coming year will be the dual boot WinXP ability. You can try something new without sacrificing your earlier PC WinTel investment.

Ironically, my own brother wouldn’t listen to me about Apple until Opie and Anthony on XM Radio did a show about the new Intel Mac’s. All of a sudden I get an excited phone call from my brother picking my brain about the new Mac’s. Oh sure, he won’t listen to his own brother but he’s listen to shock jocks on pay radio! ;-)
