Palestinian Terror Group Boasts of Chemwar Capabilities

Al-Aksa claims chemical capabilities

The Aksa Martyrs Brigades announced on Sunday that its members have succeeded in manufacturing chemical and biological weapons.

In a leaflet distributed in the Gaza Strip, the group, which belongs to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah Party, said the weapons were the result of a three-year effort.

According to the statement, the first of its kind, the group has managed to manufacture and develop at least 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons.

The group said its members would not hesitate to add the new weapons to Kassam rockets that are being fired at Israeli communities almost every day. It also threatened to use the weapons against IDF soldiers if Israel carried out its threats to invade the Gaza Strip.

You’ll notice that Al-Aksa specifically mentioned mating the chem and bio war weapons with Kassam artillery rockets. That was deliberate. Ever since Israel’s successful employment of the West Bank and Gaza security barriers, those rockets have been the only real means for Palestinian terror groups to take Israeli lives.

However, concern over this story should transcend the intitial attack. Successful employment of chemical or biological weapons in Israel could signal the end of the tiny Jewish state’s policy of keeping within its recently solidified borders. Another Operation Defense Shield could provide terror groups with the opening they need to launch a third intafada, completely erasing the measured stability achieved over the last three years.

Nothing would surprise me about these palestinians, but what the heck, if they can dance in the streets after 9/11 I suppose they can use WMD against Jews

  2. Eric Blair says:

I think they’re bluffing. I want to see them use the stuff first.

That would cross a line that change many, many things.

They’re either bluffing or they’re incredibly stupid. Bio weapons have a 360 degree kill zone. In a place as crowded as Israel/Palestine is there’s no way the bugs would stay on just one side of the border.

The use of a single chem or bio warhead would spell the end of Palestine. Any population whose grandparents were almost gassed to extinction would, very understandably, would hold nothing back in an assault on their attackers.

The general stupidity of using such a weapon in range of your own population will have no impact on such a group. They are less interested in protecting their own then in killing Israelis.

It’s not so much an effective kill as getting the world’s interest. Launching a WMD, even if it only kills 10 or 20 in a 1 block radius earns them bragging rights in a Muslim extremist world and air-time on CNN. That’s what they want.

But don’t get me wrong…Israel will not stand for it and launch weapons en masse for destruction. (ok – slightly lame)

Anyone remember the Isrealies mentioning some funny munitions being moved from Iraq through Syria to Lebanon. Well just maybe the Palestinians got a hold of Saddam’s toys and now intend on testing them on the Isrealies. Looks more like we will be in the Middle-East for sometime to come. I would go back but a broken old war horse like me is only good for the pasture. To bad the Army does not use it’s verterans to train the youngens???
