PACIFIC OCEAN (June 18, 2006) -- USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) carrier strike groups steam in formation during a joint photo exercise (PHOTOEX) in preparation for Valiant Shield 2006. The PHOTOEX featured 14 ships as well as 17 aircraft from Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corp including a B2 bomber. The Kitty Hawk Carrier Strike Group is currently participating in Valiant Shield 2006, the largest joint exercise in recent history. And through the formation, to the right (picture right) of the B-2 and to the left of some F-18s wanders an H-60, watching the pretty ships and other aircraft.

Probably has mail for the fleet.

Every time I look at the withholding on my paycheck, I get mad. Then I see pictures like this, and I cheer up seeing my tax dollars being put to good use. Thanks, all of you (even if the Army was left out of this photo op)!

Well doug if they ever wanted to retake Guam, they could have made a few torpedoes misfire during a joint training exercise like in a certain novel.

Reminds me of the 4321 rule
4000 yds or less Captain on the Bridge
Pass no closer than 3000 yds ahead of a bird farm
Pass no closer than 2000 yds either side and
Pass no closer than 1000 yds astern
Returning to the States one morning at about 0430 I had 4 carriers within 4000 yds of me. Skipper said take care of it. Never even saw him. It is wonderful to see them out there in the big blue
