   With all due respect, Hawkings is only repeating the same things that a lot of space scientists have been saying for years. It’s not simple moonbattery. There is compelling evidence that a chunk of space rock killed 90% of all species 65 million years ago. The idea is to get mankind out in space, and to not put all our eggs in one basket. Species survival is not a bad thing, dude, nor is the desire to explore and find new lands to take and hold. Personally, I’m right up there with Hawkins, and I’m way not a global warming,it’s all Bush’s fault kinda guy.

   For the love of god, why is it that nobody in the world knows this man’s name properly? It’s Hawking, not Hawkings – there’s no bloody “s”!

   Also, why is this moonbattery? It’s common sense – aside from all the other advantages to getting proper use out of space, it’s a good defence mechanism. Nothing important should be without a backup if we can help it, and there’s nothing more important than the survival of our species.
