Powerful Stuff
By John
I've always found Gatorade commercials to be sappy and overdramatic. Here's the Gatorade Team proving me wrong....
It's terrible that certain foreign soccer fans violate the code of sportsmanlike conduct and turn our national team into a sh*t magnet for all the anti-American sentiment in the world. No athlete in any sport in any nation in the world should be subjected to what those guys are forced to put up with. World Cup starts in two weeks....shove it down their throats USA.

Odd that they chose "take me out to the ballgame" for the music, but I guess there aren't really any traditional soccer tunes.
Let's hope they go far in the Cup. I wonder, though, what these fanatics will do if we win it all?
I have to say though, that kind of stuff is par for the course in soccer, especially the world cup.
You are exactly correct Andy. The 'code of sportsmanlike conduct' does not exist for fans of international soccer. The Gatorade commercial doesn't even begin to show some of the worst incidents the US team has seen in the last few years. Photos of Osama, bags of urine thrown on the field, some pretty unbelievable stuff. It's a credit to players of all nations that they can mostly ignore some of the things they probably see and hear at every away game.
I will say that I find some of the less offensive 'traditions', such as throwing an all night party outside of the hotel where the visiting team is staying, pretty cool and funny.
And of course, given some of the very personal and very derogatory chants I've heard at college basketball games, I don't think American fans are immune from this type of behavior.

The USA has a really good team this year, so we have a shot at doing well.
