Scene From a Deployment
By Charlie
Gitmo:
O-6: Does that squad on patrol have their 201s with them?
O-3 Staff Officer: err... no, sir.
O-6: Well, why the hell not? Isn't it basic equipment?
O-3 Staff Officer: sir, the 201 files are with the 1 section... As for the 203s...
OK, a 201 file is your "drop file" that has all your records in it.
A 203, or M203, is a 40mm grenade launcher that is attached to an M4/M16 rifle.
Thus, an infantry squad on patrol would be equipped with 203s, not 201s.
And yes, this really happened, so I've been told.

BWAHAHAHAHA....
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Just proves, it doesn't take a brain to be an O...
I was a platoon sergeant and my company comander told me he didn't like the way my soldiers were carrying their rifles. "How were they carrying them," I asked. He described it to me and I told him that that part of the M16 was called the "carrying handle." You should have seen his expression!

yea, I can see that. I really can.
I once had an O6 yell at me for not slowing to 10 mph as I passed him. 3 mortars had landed within 100 meters of that spot only an hour earlier. Wasn't even on a FOB!
