Mama Moonbat Crosses the Line

By John

I remember a conversation I had some time ago with a staffer at a major policy think-tank in DC. The discussion came around to Cindy Sheehan, who was just making news at the time.

"Do you think she's going to turn votes come 2006?" I asked.

The staffer replied simply and quietly, "No. She is not very bright, she'll discredit herself eventually."

That conversation was the first thing that came to my mind this morning when I read this.

I will tell the world why Casey has no marker yet. In the first place, does anyone who is attacking me know how Casey was brought home from Iraq? We picked him up in the United loading dock in a cardboard box and he was off-loaded into a hearse without one honor guard. We had to wait for about a half hour on a curb near the United freight area for his one escort, who rode from Dover Air Force Base in a seat, while Casey was treated as an over-sized piece of luggage. Has anybody held her other sobbing children who are sitting on a curb in San Francisco, waiting for the remains of their big brother to be carried over to the dock by a forklift?

Her words are enough to make you choke.

Jim Hoft meticulously researched and deconstructed Sheehan's false claims this morning. He did an absolutely magnificent job, one of the best posts I've read from the widely-praised Gateway Pundit blog.

I can deal with Cindy slandering the military. The circles she runs with has a long, distinguished history of lying about America's armed forces, calling us baby-killers, murderers, and fascists. These are arguments that don't hold water and need to be propped up by lies for justification's sake.

Blaming the funeral home was a cheap shot, these were the guys who paid out of pocket to have Sergeant Sheehan properly buried.

But what upsets me the most is that Sheehan's 11 April statement was premeditated. She wasn't caught off guard by a curveball question, and she wasn't cornered in a debate. She sat down, knowing that she was lying, and deliberately slandered the people who took the most interest in properly laying Casey Sheehan to rest.

I understand that Cindy's public speaking campaign isn't so much a tour as it is her crawling from gaffe to gaffe, but this one borders on unforgivable. Charles Johnson at LGF accurately sums up this whole stinking mess:

If this doesn’t completely discredit Mama Moonbat, nothing will
.

I am so sick of this woman.

you can't be discredited if you never had credit in the first place

Elroy   ·  April 19, 2006 01:01 PM

typical of warmongers to trivialize a woman's loss. Casey Sheehan died for no other reason that Uncle Booosh wanted blood oil under the sands of a sovereign nation. We are losing civil liberties everyday and thousands of iraqis are dying but that's okay cause you have Cindy Sheehan to attack.

I am always striving to forget about SWWNBN (She Who Will Not Be Named) because I honestly get nauseous when I think about her using her son as a tool.

On one hand, it is her son and if she wants to make herself a fool and his death merely a plank in her stage - so be it. She'll have to live with her actions years down the road when she realizes just what she's done.

On the other hand, she must realize that her son DID re-enlist for another tour in Iraq and that he was mature enough to know what he was doing.

Overall, she just makes me want to seriously puke....

When will this information appear in the Mainstream Media?

And, of course, "Social Justice" neglects to mention in his little mini-rant that the woman whose loss we're "trivializing" is lying through her teeth and slandering people. But, hey, as long as you're against Bush that's all forgiven, right?

Will   ·  April 19, 2006 07:15 PM

she will never be discredited because of the singular truth that she lost her son in a war.

that gives her the right to say anything she likes.

no matter how much you want to cut out her tongue, to do so you debases her son's sacrifice.

the speculation that her son probably (twice)signed up to put as many miles and layers of razor wire between him and her is irrelevant to his sacrifice, but i'll lay money down she knows it to be true, and she keeps her mouth going so she won't have to think about it.

BLACKFIVE had a post a while back that provides a first-person counterpoint to Ms. Sheehans perspective. Take the time to read (or re-read) this amazing account.

What really gets my goat is that good people are serving our Nation, defending idiots like her and morons like social justice.

They'll just never get it, but then again we shouldn't expect pea brains like them to understand and actually support our country.

Get a life.

Parents are not designed to outlive their children. Parents that do outlive their children frequently end up in a place called insanity. I've known two mothers that outlived a child(nothing to do with war). One spent years in counciling, the other is in a mental health lockdown facility.

We all know that the remains of the fallen return home in an aluminum casket, not a cardboard box.

Quick and simple prediction; if she campaigns for the Democrats in 2008 they will lose.

Warren Smith   ·  April 20, 2006 09:03 AM

Makes you want to go, "ugh".

Where are the other families? Why is the MSM just focusing on PMS? They are ignoring people like Laura Youngblood. Cindy fits the bill perfectly, she's needy, desperate, easily controlled and without character.

She dishonors her son.

I bet you're right. And now a daughter is helping her. It's pathetic. That's probably the only way the daughter can get any attention from her mother.

mcb said "she will never be discredited because of the singular truth that she lost her son in a war.

I couldn't disagree more. MS has the right to say whatever whe wants because she is a human being with human rights, not because her son died in a war, just or unjust. When she tells a lie, the fact that her son is dead does not make it all OK, it is still a lie, and it does indeed discredit her and her position.
