Enlistment Benefits ~ Virginia Army National Guard

NON-PRIOR SERVICE (NPS) ENLISTMENT BONUS:
· $10,000.00 will be offered to NPS enlistees who enlist into a critical MOS identified by the state and approved by National Guard Bureau.
· Additional $2000.00 for “Off-Peak” (ship to training during 14 Dec 04 and 31 May 05) or “Quick Ship” (Ship to training within a forty five day short suspense).
·50%-50% payment schedule -initial payment of 50% upon completion of IADT (Initial Active Duty Training) and 50% processed on the 4th anniversary of enlistment).

PRIOR-SERVICE ENLISTMENT BONUS:
(Soldier must not have more than 16 years at ETS)
·$15,000.00 for a 6 year enlistment. The soldier will receive 50% upon enlistment and 50% on the 4th year anniversary of enlistment.
·$7,500.00 for a 3 year enlistment. The soldier will receive 50% upon enlistment and 50% upon completion of the 3rd year. If available, at the conclusion of the 3 year enlistment, the solider may re-enlist or extend for an additional 3 years for $6,000.00.
·50%-50% payment schedule. Soldier re-enlisting or extending for an additional 3 years will receive $3000.00 upon re-enlistment or extension and $3000.000 upon completion of the third year.

RE-ENLISTMENT/EXTENSION BONUS:
(This bonus is for either 3 or 6 year extensions)
·$15,000.00 for 6 years
·$7,500.00 for 1st 3 year & $6000.00 for 2nd 3 year
·Lump sum payment schedule. For 6 year re-enlistment or extension, $15,000.00 is payable as a lump sum effective upon re-enlistment/extension. 3 year re-enlistment/extension is $7,500.00 payable as a lump sum effective upon re-enlistment/extension. The 2nd – 3 year re-enlistment/extension is $6,000.00 payable as a lump sum effective upon re-enlistment/extension. (Soldiers signing these extensions while in a combat zone will receive their entire bonus payment, tax free.)

CIVILIAN ACQUIRED SKILLS PROGRAM (CASP) ENLISTMENT BONUS:
·Soldier must provide documentation of experience in civilian job that will match the MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) the soldier will be going to.
·Soldier can receive an additional $2,000.00 for Quick Ship but is not authorized the Off Peak Ship Bonus.
·Soldier eligible for bonus upon receipt of DD 214 after completion of Basic Training. Soldier will not need to attend AIT (Advanced Individual Training) however a MOS order will be the source document for skills the soldier already has that are compatible to an MOS approved for the ARNG.
